What's in 1.2
Version 1.2 is the release where FOMO Sun stops being a private experiment and starts being an app we can hand to someone without disclaimers.
Here's what shipped.
Sun Map
The map at /map shows every destination at a glance, colour-coded by sun score, on top of an interpolated sun-hours overlay across Switzerland. It's the best single screen for "is anywhere worth chasing today?"
New since the last release: a proper Back to app link, the same city selector as the home screen, a Today/Tomorrow toggle, and travel rings so you can see which destinations are within 1h, 2h, 3h.
A calmer home screen
The hero card has been tightened. Explore and Share actions are cleaner. Alternative destinations can be sorted by FOMOscore™, closest, warmest, or most sun hours.
Legal and privacy you can actually read
A new /legal page covers the Swiss imprint requirement (UWG) and the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP). It explicitly lists what we process — and, more importantly, what we don't. No cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, no accounts, no cookies used for tracking.
A hundred small fixes
- Admin and diagnostics moved behind a subtle footer icon
- Blog and About fallback copy rewritten so nothing reads like dev jargon
- Dynamic sitemap at /sitemap.xml for search engines
- Geolocation denial now shows a real message instead of failing silently
- SEO metadata on every public page
- Better mobile spacing across the board
What's next
More destinations in the Jura and the Valais. Better Sunday-by-default logic. An attempt at "social mode" — share a specific recommendation with a friend and see when they open it.
For now, though: 1.2 is in, and it's the first version I'd send to my parents without warnings.
